Enrichment Ideas for Dogs & Cats

A useful enrichment routine can begin with one familiar accessory and a short, supervised activity. Watch how your pet responds and adapt the activity to their interest, size and comfort.

A simple food-puzzle session

Use an appropriate part of your pet’s usual food serving and begin with accessible compartments. Show where the food is before expecting your pet to investigate. Check the puzzle’s instructions and intended species.

A textured serving activity

Introduce a lick mat with a thin serving of familiar, suitable food. Keep it stable and supervise use. Read our lick mat serving ideas before choosing a setup.

Interactive play with room to move

A rolling ball or cat puzzle box offers a different activity from a feeding mat. Choose a clear space and check the item’s size, controls and included parts. Stop if your pet chews unsuitable components or appears uncomfortable.

Rotate without overwhelming

Try one activity at a time and observe which your pet returns to. Put accessories away after use where appropriate. Check for loose parts, worn surfaces or damage before the next session.

Match the item to the animal

Some items in our play range are intended for small animals rather than dogs or cats. Read each product’s description; a collection label does not make every item suitable for every species.
